Waste Management & Community Cleanups

Mobilising neighbourhoods, beaches and public spaces to clean up — and teaching households how to store and dispose of waste responsibly.

Uncollected waste is one of the most visible environmental challenges in Tanzania’s growing cities. It blocks drains, spreads disease and damages the places where people live, work and play.

WEMASA organises beach and community cleanups with residents, local leaders and partners, and follows them with door-to-door education on storing waste properly and supporting reliable collection services. Our goal is not a single clean day, but lasting habits that keep neighbourhoods clean.
